Summary:

Phillips & Jordan, Inc. is seeking to fill a Quality Control Manager position on a construction site in Cheyenne, Wyoming with an approximate 7-month completion schedule. The project is civil construction with earthwork, underground utilities installation, testing and inspection, etc. The candidate needs to be very familiar with the USACE 3-Phase Control System.

The Site Quality Control Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of the following tasks, assignments, and processes:

  • The quality of Phillips & Jordan QC work for the entire job site.

  • Ensuring the project team implements the policies and procedures required under the contract.

  • Ensuring that corrective action is taken if performance does not meet internal or client quality requirements.

  • Work closely with the Phillips & Jordan Project Manager and Site Supervisors to ensure established protocols and procedures are implemented.

  • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with the project plans, specifications, and contract requirements.

  • Directing, planning, implementing, and tracking quality control activities

  • Maintaining internal and external communication on quality control matters.

  • Conduct periodic site and project assessments

  • Conduct periodic surveillance of onsite procedures, including safety procedures.

  • Ensuring that quality control data evaluation, verification, and reporting procedures are followed.

  • Ensure timely submission of documents and reports.

  • Conduct meetings directly with the project’s Client or Client representatives

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent knowledge and experience preferred

Must have USACE CQM Certification

Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Control management

Must have excellent project management skills

Responsibilities and Duties:

Typically works an outdoor/field environment. May be required to occasionally lift objects up to 80 pounds. Must practice good back posture and ergonomic principles in an office environment. Must wear personal protective equipment in the field to include safety glasses, boots, hard hats, gloves and similar. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold environments on a limited basis. May be required to walk over rough terrain and climb slopes and equipment Extended walking, climbing and use of hands and feet will be necessary. May be required to drive a company vehicle and must have a valid driver’s license and approval prior to driving a company owned or leased vehicle. May be required to drive a commercial vehicle and a valid commercial driver’s license is required.
