Service Technician, Mechanical HVAC Service

Job Summary:

The Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC systems and installing refrigeration piping, sheet metal ducting and unit replacement. Using expertise in the HVAC industry, the Service Technician will perform maintenance on equipment throughout the Denver area providing excellent customer service and solution of issues.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

· Maintain HVAC equipment including: Changing air filters, greasing bearings, recording refrigeration pressures, adjusting gas fired burners, documenting on LONG standard task sheets

· Troubleshooting HVAC systems including: power wiring, unit controls, motor, blower, fan, bearing, gas heat, electric heat, refrigeration systems, economizer, VAV box, fan powered box, pneumatic controls

· Repairing HVAC equipment including: soldering, brazing, pipe fitting, unit wiring

· Project installation including: copper and steel piping, sheet metal ducting, equipment hanging, crane direction

· Use a variety of hand tools to troubleshoot, repair and install

· Read equipment schematics and mechanical drawings

· Represent company in a professional manor

· Document work by completing electronic paperwork on laptop computer

· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

· 2 + years’ service technician experience

· 2 + years’ installation experience with refrigeration piping, sheet metal ducting and unit replacement

· Extensive knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, electrical systems, installation and construction procedures

· Strong oral, written, interpersonal communications skills, as well as excellent documentation and organizational skills

· General technical competence with laptop computer used for daily work orders and manufacture’s websites

· Demonstrated ability to interpret engineered plans, drawings and specifications

· Superb troubleshooting and analytical skills

· Ability to climb ladders and function at heights

· Ability to lift loads up to 75 pounds

· Position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms and possible extreme weather

· Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license

· Must have universal CFC certification

· Must have personal hand tools

· Provide 24 hour service requires our service technicians to take the service van home and be available to cover on call rotation
