Key Technical Skills

  • Verify trueness of structures with plum bob, lasers, carpenter level, squares and transits prior to concrete placements
  • Construct forms and chutes for concrete placement
  • Utilize survey equipment including levels, lasers, transits and tape measures
  • Operate hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, roto hammers, grinder, etc.  
  • Assemble and tie reinforcing steel
  • Perform exact measurements and cuts


Candidates for this position must have experience placing and finishing concrete.

Employee-Owner Expectations

Garney expects its Carpenters to work using safety harnesses, belts and lanyards while working from scaffolding, shoring and walls. Carpenters must be comfortable working from heights.

Garney’s Carpenters must be able to work on their feet for an entire day, understand and perform assigned tasks, adhere to Garney safety policies and procedures, and arrive at work on time every day.
