Position:     Electrical Engineer

Location:         Lakewood, Colorado

Description:  BG has an opportunity for a mid-level Electrical Engineer in our Lakewood, Colorado office.  This individual will design electrical systems for hospitality, educational and healthcare facilities, and commercial buildings.  Experience with and knowledge of the building codes is a must.  He/she will have a passion for sustainability.  Project management experience is preferred, but not required.  Some travel is necessary as project needs demand.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for a variety project types ranging from tenant finish, resorts, hospitality, educational facilities, high-end homes and commercial buildings.
  • Manage workload and work with minimal supervision.
  • Assist with and provide engineering correspondence on projects.
  • Assist with writing specifications and review shop drawings for electrical system components.
  • Conceptualize the initial design approach for major phases of large facilities type projects, as well as maintain overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of limited scope.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate engineering work.
  • Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with city, state, and county officials, and other outside agencies.
  • Resolve a variety of complex problems such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.
  • Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  • Assist with general company and project marketing activities.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in engineering; BSARE or BSEE required.

Registrations:  Licensed Professional Engineer required.  LEED™ Accredited (AP BD+C minimum) preferred.
