Business Development Representative


Position Details:

OTR Capital thrives on building and securing new business through our strong desire to succeed, and by sustaining continual growth in the fast-paced transportation industry. As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for growing and developing new business primarily through generating sales leads and promoting OTR’s services to new accounts. This position will be responsible for endorsing and selling OTR’s services in accordance with established sales policies and procedures, and in pursuit of the Company’s goals and objectives. Day-to-day activities will revolve around establishing new accounts, building relationships with customers, and working closely with all other OTR employees on the team. 



  • Ability to explain and sell OTR’s core services and the benefits of factoring
  • Effectively identify potential customers (from research, networking, trade shows, etc.)
  • Make daily calls to customers from all over the U.S. in order to develop new business
  • Oversee the application process and negotiate contract terms for new accounts
  • Prepare and execute a successful sales plan to help the Company meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue expectations
  • Work with Account Coordinators to ensure Accounts Receivables volumes remain in line with credit limits 
  • Understand OTR’s credit policies, utilizing acceptable credit ratings and reporting agencies



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • Willingness to learn about the transportation and factoring industries
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills
